Prof. Harinder Singh Mahboob’s Jhanan di Raat is a monumental work in Punjabi poetry. Prof. Mahboob experienced homelessness during the 1947 partition. The poems in Jhanan di Raat represent the experience of homelessness in a broader philosophical context. This lecture will offer a close reading of some selected poems from Jhanan Di Raat.
